About Us

Smart Ops improves water and air quality around the world so communities and industries can thrive.

Founded in 2022, Smart Ops brings together pioneering biotechnology breakthroughs with a smart engineering mindset to enable air and water purification and rejuvenation to take place rapidly, sustainably and at scale, in domestic, commercial and broader environmental settings. Its treatment systems are powered by its proprietary SABRE technology that enhances the efficiency of biological agents. This enables Smart Ops to increase both output quality, and the volume and speed at which air, water and waste can be treated compared to traditional solutions, particularly where centralised treatment systems are unavailable, unsuitable or underperforming.

The Smart Ops SCR System has already been deployed to clean lakes in Ireland, tackle industrial and agricultural waste in Belgium and the UK, and to rejuvenate waterways in India. They are the first to gain ETV acceptance from NMCG, India’s National Mission for Clean Ganga where India’s moto is “No water should go to Waste “, with independent verification from researchers at the University of Ulster,  IIT Kanpur and Maharashtra’s MJP Board.

The company is founded by Dr Liam Ryan, Minesh Patel and Priyesh Patel MBE, DL. The Patels are leading entrepreneurs in the UK who previously built an international consumer foods business. It was while tackling the issue of improving the quality of air emissions from their factories that they met Ryan, developing the precursor of Smart Ops’ SABRE technology. Together they recognised its potential to have a global impact and expand access to clean water and air around the world.
