INDUSTRIAL AIR POLLUTION ABATEMENT
SUMMARY
Smart Ops’ SABRE technology was first industrially tested in Leicester, where it was deployed to improve air quality around the Patels’ Cofresh factory, a family business that has made iconic Indian snacks for over 5 decades. SABRE technology was used to treat industrial effluent and emissions, using an application-specific catalyst. Smart Ops used AirDr, retrofitting the treatment system to the stack to allow emission capture without affecting air flow, with detailed outlet air quality monitoring.

This technology has been successfully running since 2020 handling over 20000 cubic metres of air effluent every hour. It has reduced total volatile organic compounds (TVOC) by 95%, fats oil and greases (FOG) to negligible levels reducing odours around the factory. The technology has been stated as the “Best Available Technology” for Odour Abatement. Local Environmental Officers were exceptionally pleased with the deployment of the technology, which succeeded in reducing the odour levels to an acceptable level, meeting environmental standards and regulation.
